News to Share

We (Laura and Richard) are leaving our positions in Hays County, and will start our new Extension positions in Leon County on February 15th.  Richard will be the Ag/Natural Resources Agent, and I am filling a brand new position, serving as the 4-H and Youth Development Agent.  Our last day in the Hays Co. office is Feb. 10th.

Richard has served in Hays County for 15 years, and I have been here 5 years.  We have been extremely invested in a variety of programs including 4-H.  We have enjoyed working with you to develop and outstanding 4-H program.  Thank you for your support!!  We are looking forward to our new endeavors, and wish you all the best.

Many are asking about when someone will be taking our place.  Once we move, our positions here will be announced, and current Extension employees will have an opportunity to apply.  If there are no applicants after some time (have no idea how long this will be), the positions will be open externally.  Other than this, we have no idea when our positions will be filled.  Just realize that in the interim, our office is left with an Office Manager (Bari) and a Part-time Youth Program Assistant (Kelly).  After new agents are hired, they will be learning about the local programs and reaching out to you for continued partnerships.  We ask that you support them as you have us.

Horse Committee Meeting

The next meeting of the Hays County 4-H Horse Project Committee will be held following the February 6 Hays County 4-H Horse Show at Dripping Springs Ranch Park.  Please make plans to be there.
