Home Skills Thank You's
For those of you who participated in Home Skills, you were provided info about writing thank you notes to donors. Here are mailing addresses for the 2 donors:
County 4-H Clothing Contests
Our County 4-H Clothing Contests, including Fashion Show, Fashion Storyboard, Textile Show and Duds to Dazzle, will be held on Tues., April 5, at the Extension office, in conjunction with County 4-H Roundup. Deadline for all entries is Mon., March 28th.

4-H Recordbooks & 4-H Star Awards
4-H Recordbooks
Recordkeeping is a very valuable skill taught to members of the Texas 4-H program. Members are encouraged to keep project records and have these records reviewed annually by submitting a Texas 4-H Recordbook. The primary purposes of completing a recordbook:
- for young people to develop the skills necessary to set goals, work toward achieving those goals, reflect on his/her experiences, and set new and higher goals for themselves
- to prepare young people for the process of completing quality academic scholarship applications

4-H Recordbooks are due to the Hays Co. Extension office by 5 pm on Mon., June 27th. Click here for more details. We need adult and teen 4-H volunteers to help judge recordbooks that same evening, so please sign up. Dinner will be provided between 5 and 6 pm with orientation and judging beginning at 6 pm. We will also need judges for District 4-H Recordbook Judging which will be Thur., July 7th.

4-H members who are planning to submit their recordbook also qualify for our 4-H Star Awards, which include Gold Star for 4-H'ers in grades 9-12, Silver Star for our middle school 4-H'ers and Bronze Star for 4-H'ers in grades 3-5. Hays Co. 4-H Roundup (Public Speaking & Performance Contests)

4-H Photo Contest Opportunities

Attention 4-H photographers!! Enter your pics in this contest by Mon., March 28th. Photos will be judged and returned to you in April. Many of you entered photos for the Hays Co. Livestock Show, so you can use many of those for this contest as well. The categories are different, but the guidelines are pretty much the same.

All 4-H'ers are welcome to enter this contest - it is open to all 4-H'ers, qualifying at county is not required. All photos are submitted on 4-H Connect during the registration process that is open April 1-15. Info on the district contest is available by clicking here.

National Anthem at Texas 4-H Roundup
4-H'ers are invited to apply for the opportunity to sing the National Anthem a Capella (no music) during Texas 4-H Roundup in June. Entries may include 1-4 people, and must be submitted on YouTube. Three individual/teams will be selected to perform during the evening assemblies. Deadline for submission of all entries is May 2nd. Click here to find out more.
