Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed to help review recipes for the Hays County Youth Livestock Show: Homeskills Category.

We will be reviewing recipes on December 18th at the Wimberley Extension Office and 6pm

County 4-H Photography Contest

County Photography Contest:

All photos must be submitted in jpeg, jpg or gif format to the Extension Agents at the email addresses below by Dec. 22nd

County entries will be taken this year the same as District entries, each photograph will need to be clearly labeled with the age division, county, 4-H members first and last name, and the name of the category. You will not be turning in a hard-copy of the photo, it will be a jpeg that will be emailed to the Extension agents. 

Each 4-H member may enter up to three photos. You cannot enter all three photos in the same category. Photos must be taken by the 4-H member between April 16, 2017-February 1, 2018. 

Please follow the District guidelines when submitting your photos for County.

2018 4-H Opportunity Scholarship

The Texas 4-H and Youth Development Program and the Texas 4-H Youth Development Foundation is once again pleased to offer to our senior high school 4-H members and current college students the opportunity to apply for an Opportunity Scholarship through the Texas 4-H Youth Development Foundation.  This year Texas 4-H members can apply for scholarships in three areas, baccalaureate, courageous heart, and technical. Former Texas 4-H members will be able to apply for scholarships through the collegiate scholarship program.  All applications and support materials can be downloaded from the Texas 4-H website at:  texas4-h.tamu.edu

Changes for the 2018 Texas 4-H Opportunity Scholarship Process
  • Texas 4-H will continue to accept both the old and new versions of SAT scores for the 2018 application process.
  • Applicants must work directly with their school administrators to ensure they have quartile ranking for their application. A quartile ranking is required to be considered for a Texas 4-H Opportunity Scholarship.
  • Scholarship Interviews will be conducted in College Station in May, 2018.
  • Dr. Toby Lepley will resume leadership as Scholarship Coordinator for 2018.  Please direct all questions directly to Dr. Lepley or your District 4-H Specialists.
