High School Seniors Scholarship applications are also due
October 15th.

requirements:
APPLICATION, RESUME, REFERENCE LETTER, AND PHOTOGRAPH
2.20 Both a hard copy and an electronic copy of the
completed application must be submitted.
2.21 The completed, hard-copy application must contain
four copies of each of the following: application form, resume, reference
letter, and photograph. All aforementioned documents must be placed in a sealed
envelope, which will only be opened by the judges. Additionally, one copy of
the entry form must be completed and attached to the front of the envelope. DO
NOT place the entry form inside the application envelope.
2.22 The completed electronic copy of the application
must contain a copy of each of the following: entry form, application form,
resume, reference letter, and photograph. All documents must be submitted in
PDF format. Please email all PDF documents in a single, zipped folder named in
the following manner: CandidateName_2020_2021.
2.23 The candidate’s hard-copy application must be
submitted to the Hays County Extension Office by 5:00 PM on October 15, 2020.
The electronic copy of the completed application must be submitted via email by
5:00 PM on the same date.
2.24 Application forms can be downloaded from the HCLE
website.
2.25 The resume must contain a description of activities
and achievements in 4-H, FFA, civic, community, church, and school
organizations. Please include honors won and any leadership positions held.
2.26 A reference letter must be included in each
candidate’s application. Four copies of the reference letter must be enclosed
within the submitted, hard-copy application. Additionally, a copy of the
reference letter must be included in the electronic submission.
2.27 Four, 4x6 copies of a headshot photograph of the
candidate must accompany all entries. A scanned or electronic copy of the same
photograph must be included in the electronic submission. Please ensure that
the electronic copy is in PDF format. If necessary, the candidate may insert
the photograph on a Microsoft Word document and save the document as a PDF.

3.12 Official grade transcripts must accompany all
entries.
a. Four signed hard copies of the candidate’s official
grade transcript must be enclosed in a separate, sealed envelope provided by a
school official. Transcripts can be obtained at the candidate’s school’s
counselor office.
b. Candidates will be subject to disqualification if the
official grade transcript is not signed and sealed in a separate envelope by a
school official.
c. Additionally, the candidate must include a copy of
his/her official grade transcript in the electronic submission.
e. DO NOT open and scan your official grade transcript
provided to you by your school official. Instead, please request an electronic
PDF copy of your official grade transcript.
f. Both formats are mandatory, though only the hard
copies must be signed and sealed by the candidate’s school official.
g. Should the judges notice any discrepancy in the
electronic or hard copies of the transcripts, the candidate may be subject to
disqualification.
3.13 Three reference letters must be included in each
candidate’s application. Four copies of each of the reference letters must be
enclosed within the submitted, hard-copy application. Additionally, a copy of
each reference letter must be included in your electronic submission.
